I don’t eat a lot of breakfast but when we do go out to grab it I spend so much time trying to decide between french toast and waffles. When the server comes I blurt out the first thing that comes out and hope I made the right decision. I should just order both but then I’d end up eating all of it and then feel really guilty about it around lunchtime. So, instead of feeling guilty, I found a way I can have both my favorites and not have to spend 2 hours at the gym later (which I never do anyway) or eat carrots for the rest of the day. I give you…French Toast Waffles! Genius, right?
- 3 eggs, lightly beaten
- 1/4 cup milk
- 2 Tbsp butter, melted
- pinch of salt
- 5 slices French bread
- your favorite breakfast syrup
- Preheat waffle iron. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, butter and salt.
- Dip a slice of bread in egg mixture and place on hot waffle iron. Close lid and bake until golden brown. Repeat with remaining slices.
- Serve warm with your favorite syrup.
